{ARTICOM
For moving data around an office, a Local Area Network performs near-
miracles. But to burst beyond the walls and call out to branch
offices, field representatives, mainframes, commercial information
services and bulletin board systems, you need to hitch your network to
a modem and dial out to the rest of the computer world.
ArtiCom is a memory-resident program using less than 6K of RAM and no
additional hardware to dial out from your LANs. Any station on the
network has access to any modem across the network.
The ArtiCom software has the user-friendly interface of the LANtastic
Network Operating System, although it works on most NetBIOS-compatible
systems. The ArtiCom system features built-in terminal emulation, a
dialing directory, multiple upload and download protocols as well as
extensive security features.
On the ArtiCom asynchronous communications server, modem communication
on the LAN is as routine as network printing. But ArtiCom is also
designed for use with plotters, serial printers, or any other bi-
directional peripheral devices on a serial port. Any PC on the system
can be an ArtiCom workstation, server or both. And with support of the
INT14 protocol, ArtiCom can be used with other communication products.
